Tropics Heating Up

Happy Saturday, SW Florida!

Your weekend forecast looks very summerlike with a mix of sun & clouds, afternoon storms, and highs in the lower to mid-90s!

Looking ahead to the work week, I’m not seeing any big changes to our rain chances, with scattered storms in the forecast each day through at least the middle of next week.

In the tropics, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring three tropical waves embedded within a large area of disturbed weather in the Tropical Atlantic. These three areas don’t show any imminent signs of development, and don’t pose any short-term threat to SW Florida or the United States. Models are all over the place, and don’t know what, if anything will come out of this mess. However, its August, so we need to keep an eye on these tropical waves as this is the time of the year the Cabo Verde season cranks up!
