Warmer weather today with scattered rain chances

Published: Updated:

Happy Friday morning, Southwest Florida!

Temperatures will be slightly warmer this afternoon. Highs will stretch into the mid-90s this afternoon under partly cloudy skies.

Unfortunately, heat index values will climb back into the triple-digits.

Rain chances will begin around noon for our coastal zones.  Expect these storms to shift inland into the evening.

Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances will persist into next week.

We are tracking two disturbances in the Atlantic Basin. One has a low (20%) chance of formation and is heading towards the Leeward Islands. Meanwhile, our disturbance to the east now has a high (70%) chance of formation. Each of these is roughly 3,000 miles away from Florida and pose no immediate threat to us, but we will continue to track these as they move westward.
