A man who was found guilty of sexual battery has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Akepe Gerard Ntube, 47, will also be on sex offender probation for five years and has been designated a sexual offender, according to a press release.

He was found guilty last month following a trial in Lee County.

The crime happened in 2020 when Ntube worked as a physical therapist at a chiropractor’s office, according to the state attorney’s office. Prosecutors say he sexually battered a woman who went to get a massage to heal a work injury.

According to the Florida Board of Physical Therapy, Ntube was licensed as a physical therapist assistant, who is still in good standing.

After the massage, the woman drove to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and reported the crime.
