Warmer weather and lower rain chances today

Happy Friday, Southwest Florida! We’ll encounter a slight shift in our weather patterns to end the week.

Our highs will be a pinch warmer than they were yesterday. Expect temperatures to reach the mid-to-lower-90s this afternoon under partly cloudy skies.

Almost all of us will still experience triple-digit “feels like” temperatures when you factor in our ample humidity.

Regardless of how humid we are, rain chances will be on the lower side today. A few coastal showers should be expected early this afternoon before scattered rain chances move inland in the late afternoon.

Rain chances will increase throughout the weekend. If you miss out on today’s showers, it is unlikely you will come out of the weekend dry.

We continue our run of great boating conditions into today. Light chop and only 1-2 foot wave heights are expected on the water.

As July comes to a close, we will be entering into a historically active stretch of hurricane season.

Thankfully, all is quiet in the Atlantic Basin at the moment. We have no cyclones forecasted to develop over the next five days.
