Sun & storms for Sunday

Happy Sunday, SW Florida!

A typical summer day is ahead with highs soaring into the lower 90s this afternoon, with storms popping up by this evening.

Meanwhile in the tropics, we’re watching Invest 90L just to the east of Florida. The National Hurricane Center gives this disturbance a medium 50% chance of becoming a depression before crossing Florida tomorrow.

With that being said, dry northerly wind shear is having its way with it this morning, and I don’t expect 90L to do much except bring us higher rain chances on Monday. Otherwise, the tropics are quiet as dust continues to dominate the Atlantic.

By late week, rain chances fall as drier air filters in, and because of that, our highs will soar back into the mid-90s.
