Scattered storms return across SWFL this weekend

Published: Updated:

As promised, storm potential has been much lower across Southwest Florida today. Expect only a few brief showers for the rest of your Thursday.

Friday will have a similar setup with areas of spotty showers and storms. We will also see plentiful sunshine at times!

This will allow highs to soar into the low-mid 90s. Heat indices will average near 103° throughout the afternoon.

As we approach the weekend, rain chances will increase and so will our level of humidity. Hot and muggy with a chance of storms? Sounds like July!

In the tropics, there is nothing to track that could impact us locally. The one disturbance is heading out to sea.

Long-range models indicate we should be calm for at least the next 7 – 10 days.
