A jury has been seated in the trial of a man accused of robbing a woman who was stabbed, beaten and killed.

Cristian Dilan, 23, is accused of grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, accessory after the fact, robbery, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Sarah Nicholson.

Nicholson was killed in 2017. She was stabbed and beaten in her Bonita Springs home which was then set ablaze.

A second man, Raymond Gomez, is also charged with Nicholson’s death. Gomez’s trial date has not yet been set.

Dilan and Gomez were houseguests that Nicholson tried to kick out.

Meanwhile, during jury selection on Tuesday, the most frequently asked question of potential jurors was have you been robbed or been the victim of a break-in.

Opening statements will begin on Wednesday.
