According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old man was driving a van south on Alico Road, north of Corkscrew Road, around 2:10 a.m when he traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree. The van came to rest on the west grass shoulder of Alico Road. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
