Scattered storms expected this weekend

Published: Updated:

Happy Saturday, SW Florida!

It’s much of the same for today, with scattered storms pushing across the area this afternoon, and highs in the lower 90s!

If you are heading out on the water today, expect a light to moderate chop with waves near 1′ – 3′ and water temps in the mid 80s! However, keep your eyes to the sky as scattered storms are expected throughout the afternoon.

Storms are expected to remain in the area for your Sunday and continuing into next week.

Turning to the tropics…

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave in the far eastern Atlantic. The wave has a very low chance of development over the next five day, thanks to a combination of dry air, wind shear, and marginally warm sea surface temperatures. It’s worth mentioning none of the reliable model guidance develops this disturbance.
