Charlotte County deputies have arrested three people in connection to a residential burglary that included a vehicle theft.

According to a news release, Destiney Leann Nickell, Michael Sealy and Brent Kern are responsible for a burglary on Basel Lane in Englewood. It occurred on June 12.

A blue Chrysler Sebring was also taken from the home.

A deputy was on his way to another call when the vehicle matching the description pulled into the deputy’s lane.

The vehicle was eventually found in the parking lot of a Dollar General and confirmed to be the stolen car.

The deputy entered the store and was informed by an employee that three people fled through the back.

Deputies identified the suspects through Dollar General surveillance footage.

Kern, 37, was arrested the day of the crime. He faces charges of grand theft of motor vehicle, burglary of dwelling structure or conveyance while armed and grand theft more than $5,000 less than $10,000.
