Stormy week ahead in Southwest Florida

Happy Sunday, SW Florida!

Your Sunday forecast looks good, with a mix of sun and clouds and a humid breeze, though we will have to watch out for a stray shower. Otherwise, highs should stay in the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.

Our weather takes a stormy turn heading into the workweek. A frontal boundary will stall over the area, providing a focus for showers and thunderstorms. It won’t be a washout, but it certainly looks stormy at times.

The best chance for storms will be for the northern half of the area on Monday, but those rain chances will become more widespread Tuesday into Wednesday, before we finally dry out on Thursday.

As far as how much rain we’ll see, right now I’m thinking 1-3 inches of rain will fall across SW this upcoming week, which is certainly welcomed!

The wet weather won’t last though, as we turn much drier into Thursday and Friday!
