A security guard was attacked by a teen while on the job. He told us it won’t keep him from doing what he loves.

Keith Brown is 84 years old, and he says the people at Moorings Beach Park in Naples are the reason he’s enjoyed working security there for 25 years. He was attacked recently, but he’s not afraid to stay.

It’s a rare day if you find Brown at his Naples home. He is usually on the job as a beach park attendee in the Moorings.

Brown confronted a driver in a pickup truck for going the wrong way two weeks ago when he was attacked.

“I said, ‘No. You can’t do this. If you continue, I’m going to call the police,’” Brown explained. “And the guy who is in the back, he came around and throw me to the ground.”

Now, 18-year-old Croix Andrew Hill is facing a charge for battery. Witnesses say they saw him violently knock Brown to the ground, jump back in the truck and speed off.

“I got a blow in my head, but the main thing is my [behind]” Brown said. “Matter of fact, it’s still swollen, and last Saturday, I went to emergency to get an X-ray.”

While brown heals, he’s thankful a perpetrator was caught.

“And people realize that you’re not just going to walk away because they feel like doing what they feel like doing, and somebody is there to stand up to them,” Brown said.

The property owners association informed residents they will be upping security and safety measures in the park.

Brown told us he’s received an overwhelming amount of support since the attack.

“This makes me more determined to stay,” Brown said.
