Problems with Waste Pro are making people in Cape Coral furious.

Trash is piling up at the end of driveways and people are hoping for a solution.

Cape Coral residents are anxious to know what Waste Pro is going to do about the garbage that sits for days before someone finally picks it up.

A Waste Pro spokesperson said on Tuesday said the City of Cape Coral received a copy of Waste Pro’s draft plan. But staff has questions it needs to address with Waste Pro, the city said.

The city did not respond to WINK News’ records request asking to see the plan.

The garbage problems are not sitting well with people.

“We’ve got critters, we have raccoons and then, of course, we had a storm the other night and all the trash just went all over the place. I had to pay somebody to collect it all,” said Jack Zigenfus, president of the Courtyards of Cape Coral North.

When the trash started to pile up, Waste Pro said it was suffering through a driver shortage.

Since then, the company has announced incentives to people who want to work for the company and it said it’s hired subcontractors.

But the problems persist.
