Now, a security guard’s first-person account of what he calls an “all-out brawl” outside a south Fort Myers nightclub.

Christian Lepe works for Blackhorn Security. He provided this video to WINK News showing the chaos outside Viva Le Mirage overnight.

Lepe said this fight broke out when people started to walk out of the club and into the parking lot.

Lepe said just when the brawl started to break up, there was a gunshot.

He said it was only one shot and it came from a truck that sped off.

It was so hectic, Lepe grabbed his gun.

“I would say anywhere between 200 to 300 maximum. You know this venue offers that kind of occupancy. And the way we do things here on a Thursday night, it gets pretty packed,” Lepe said. “It becomes a predicament when 2 am hits, everybody is on their partying done, they’re drinking. And we’re trying to get them to leave as smoothly and as fast as possible with all this in their system already.”

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting but decided not to file a report. No report despite calls like these heard from first responders.

“There’s about to be a big fight breaking out right now.”
“Shots fired. Shots fired!”
“White pickup truck heading … it’s going southbound. or sorry, westbound on College.”

The violence overnight is not the first time there have been problems right after people walked out of Viva Le Mirage.

In January, 21-year-old Derrick Massey was arrested for homicide.

Deputies say he fired into a car after coming out of the nightclub, killing one person.

No one was hurt during Thursday’s shooting.
