Fort Myers Police Department arrested Anna Marie Reagan, 37, Thursday for drunk driving and causing a crash in 2020 that later caused the death of a man involved at the beginning of 2021.

According to an FMPD press release, police responded to a four-vehicle crash that happened close to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 in the area of Ortiz Avenue and Eastwood Greens Street.

Victim David Edwin Donaldson, 79, who was also involved in the crash, was critically injured and later died of his injuries Saturday Jan. 23, 2021.

Investigators says Reagan caused the crash while she was driving her red 2017 Toyota Corolla. Responding officers say Reagan showed signs that she had been drunk driving at the time of the crash.

Blood test results confirmed her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Reagan faces charges for vehicular manslaughter (DUI cause death to human or unborn child), DUI-unlawful blood alcohol (DUI and serious bodily injury to another) and 3 counts of DUI-unlawful blood alcohol (DUI damage to property or person of another).

Reagan was booked into Lee County Jail, where she remains in custody without set bond.
