The Cape Coral Police Department responded to and detained a man threatening self-harm who barricaded himself in a home in Cape Coral Thursday night. According to CCPD, police were in the 2700 block of SW 13th Ave, east of Chiquita Boulevard S. and south of Veterans Memorial Parkway, where police originally responded to reports of a domestic disturbance. It developed into a scene with police responding to the man barricaded inside the home. Police set up a perimeter at the scene, and it was said shots might have been fired during the time of the reported domestic disturbance. Police said there was no danger to the public, and it was reported around 11:47 p.m. the man had been detained. There is no further information at this time.
