85-year-old woman killed in crash on Business 41 in North Fort Myers

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash that killed an 85-year-old woman on Business 41 in North Fort Myers Wednesday.

According to FHP, troopers are at the scene of the crash on BUS 41 near N Recreation Parkway, just outside of the public library.

The victim was in the passenger seat of a sedan driven by an 80-year-old woman. They were traveling northbound in the left turn lane of BUS 41 at Recreation Pkwy.

At the same time, a driver with a passenger in a pickup truck was southbound on BUS 41 when the driver in the sedan went into the path of the truck. This caused the truck to hit the right side of the sedan.

The 85-year-old woman was confirmed deceased in the crash, but it was not shared in the crash report whether she died at the scene or was taken to the hospital for treatment first.

The driver of the sedan was listed as having minor injuries. Two men in the pickup truck were listed as having no injuries.

The roadway is clear.
