Warm, dry conditions keep fire danger high across SW Florida this week

Published: Updated:

Happy Tuesday, Southwest Florida! After a cool start, we soar to the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon with abundant sunshine.

Here’s a small, yet significant, change this afternoon: our fire danger index is increasing due to wind becoming breezy at times, dry conditions, and low humidity.

The wind is expected to increase even more by late this week, so the Weather Authority will monitor this trend closely.

Late this week, we’ll also watch an increase in temperatures and wave heights ahead of our next cold front.
