Wednesday, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and North Fort Myers Fire Control and Rescue Service District responded to a mobile home fire that was determined to be suspicious in North Fort Myers.

According to the LCSO incident report, deputies responded to the report of a mobile home fire, where they saw smoke and flames coming from the home at a location that was redacted.

Fire crews were already at the scene working to put the fire out when a deputy spoke to a witness, who said they originally saw smoke coming from the trailer and dialed 911.

Fire crews put out the fire, and investigators determined it was suspicious because the home had been locked; there was no power to the residence; and it appeared the fire started underneath the trailer.

There was no report of injuries due to the fire, and there are no reports of arrests made for cause of the fire.

The incident remains under investigation.
