John Carioscia. Credit: City of Cape Coral John Carioscia, former councilman for District 2 of Cape Coral, died Sunday due to complications from COVID-19, according to a city press release. “It is with profound sadness to learn of John’s passing,” wrote Mayor John Gunter. “He cared deeply about our city and we are grateful for his dedication, leadership and many contributions to our Cape Coral community. I extend my deepest condolences to the Carioscia family and ask our community to pray for John’s family during this very difficult time.” Carioscia served two consecutive terms from 2011 until 2020. Funeral arrangements are pending.
