Rain, storms moving through SWFL late tonight through Friday morning

Published: Updated:

Happy Thursday! Get ready for another warm afternoon with breezy wind ahead of our next cold front.

Spotty rain and storms will move through northern Highlands, DeSoto, and Charlotte counties starting around 11 p.m.

Eventually, the front will slide south toward the Caloosahatchee as we near 2 a.m. Friday morning.

As it shifts southward, the system will weaken substantially. Most of the shower and storm activity will wrap up by 5 a.m.

Only a sliver of our region remains in a marginal risk (1/5) of strong-to-severe storms late Thursday through Friday morning.

All Southwest Floridians should prep for areas of brief, heavy rain, gusty wind at times, and lightning within any storms. Trust the Weather Authority to update you if anything changes!
