Credit: Maxar Technologies. North Port Police Department responded to a drive-by shooting with no injuries in the Sarasota County portion of the city Wednesday afternoon. According to the police department’s Facebook post, police went to a drive-by shooting into a home on the 5500 block of Jody Lane. Investigators attribute the shooting to an unknown suspect at this time, who they say escaped the scene toward Port Charlotte in a vehicle described as a black Nissan, likely a 2000s Altima with dark windows. This is currently being treated as an isolated incident. No one was reportedly injured in the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
