The Atlantic hurricane season is only three months away, and the City of Sanibel shared some resources to help you get prepared.

  • Creating a family emergency plan can help keep people safe. This pre-formatted plan is designed to provide quality-of-life during an event. To create one, you can go to Lee County’s website.
  • There’s an All-Hazards Guide available on the Lee County website as well
  • If you don’t already have a Hurricane Reentry pass, you can purchase one to safely return after a hurricane evacuation. They are still using the purple and tan 2016 passes in 2021. You can apply for one here.
  • alertLee replaced the CodeRed emergency system in July 2019. Both The City of Sanibel and Lee County use it to send you targeted emergency alerts. You can receive alerts for multiple devices. Sign up here.
