Saturday, Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a home invasion in Lehigh Acres, where investigators say five armed individuals violently invaded a home, got away with jewelry and demanded money.

According to an LCSO report, unknown suspects threatened to kill one of the victims if they didn’t get what they demanded. One of the home invasion victims was a child.

Two of the five victims say they were in the garage of their home on Clayton Avenue when they say five men came from the woods into their garage, demanded money and hit them both in the face.

According to the report, the men then forced all of the victims into a bedroom, took their cellphones and ransacked the home.

Nearby neighbors say they were surprised something like this happened feet from their home, and they plan to step up home security because of it.

“I’ve never felt an urgency to protect our home and ourselves,” Rachel Frey said. “It makes me feel like we might need to take some more serious steps in the near future to just do more.”

Florida Department of Children & Families also responded to the scene.

There is no further information at this time. Investigators are still looking for the unknown suspects accused of this armed robbery.

Anyone with information can leave an anonymous tip with Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
