Scattered rain and storms return to SWFL this weekend

Published: Updated:

Happy Friday! With dry air in place, highs will skyrocket to the low-80s with plentiful sunshine this afternoon.

But today is our last nice day before the return of scattered rain and storms this weekend.

The main event looks to be Saturday afternoon. Potential impacts to Southwest Florida include periods of heavy rain, gusty wind, and lightning.

Right now, severe storms are not expected, but that’s subject to change. Trust the Weather Authority to update you.

The good news? Low humidity mixes in once the storm system passes and Sunday will be a wonderful day!
