Naples man killed in Thursday night motorcycle crash

A 48-year-old Naples man has died after crashing his motorcycle Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was eastbound in outside lane of Vanderbilt Beach Road around 7:35 p.m., approaching Airport Road, when he traveled off the roadway to the right. The right side of his motorcycle collided with the curb, launching him out of his seat.

The man landed on the south curb of the eastbound lanes of Vanderbilt Beach Road. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. He was declared dead Saturday, March 6, at Lee Memorial Hospital.
