A building in Lehigh Acres was severely damaged by a fire early Tuesday morning.

Dense smoke and fire could be seen coming from a two-story detached garage on the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue after the blaze was reported around 2:30 a.m. Though the fire was extinguished by the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District by 3:17 a.m., the building had already suffered extensive damage, with some of the walls caving in.

No one was injured in the fire, which is currently under investigation by the fire marshal.
