An AMBER Alert issued Tuesday afternoon for a 1-year-old girl inside a stolen SUV in the Tampa area has been canceled. Authorities say she was found safe.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says a man stole the SUV while the toddler’s mom was unloading groceries in a Valrico neighborhood. Investigators say the child was asleep at the time the SUV was taken.

It was later found abandoned at a church three miles away, and the toddler was found unharmed inside.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect is believed to have been asking passersby for a ride before he stole the SUV.

The search for that man continues.
