On Valentine’s Day, we celebrate love, so WINK News wants to introduce you to two couples living at the Bentley Senior Living Community in Naples, both married for over 60 years.

Make sure you have your pen and notebook nearby to take notes, because we’re asking them what their secret is to making their love last.

Rosalie and Earl Timmons just celebrated 61 years of marriage. They say, when you know, you know.

“I came in from the beach that weekend and I said to my mother I met the guy I’m going to marry,” Rosalie said. “We met in September Labor Day weekend. We were married February 6.”

Rosemary and John Ufheil also tied the knot just a few months after meeting.

“I really thought that we knew each other and we love each other, so that was the most important thing,” said Rosemary.

Love is what’s kept them together during these 63 years of marriage. With so many in senior living communities dealing with isolation as a result of the pandemic. Last year truly showed these couples how important it is to have their best friend by their side.

“Never would have made them through it without her! Our time together is more important than anything else other than our children and grandchildren,” John said.

“He’s the one! We just enjoyed each other’s company and I knew he was the one,” Rosalie said.

An undeniable love even after decades of marriage. “She has too many I couldn’t name them all. She’s a very smart lady to begin with, very smart. She [has] very honest thoughts, she’s very thoughtful and she’s an incredible mother,” John said.

“She’s been a companion like I could never have asked,” he said.

“I couldn’t ask for someone to love me more than he does,” Rosemary said.
