An arrest was made after three men were stabbed late Wednesday in Cape Coral, one of them while trying to break up a fight.

The scene unfolded in the 1900 block of NW 18th Street just after 8 p.m.

Police say a man took out a knife and stabbed another, leading a third man to try to break up the fight and receiving an injury himself.

After an investigation, police discovered an ongoing disagreement between Kai Jarek Perkins-Waters and the victim. Perkins-Waters entered the victim’s lanai that night and intended to fight.

During the fight, the victim took out a knife and stabbed Perkins-Waters. Another man present tried to break up the fight and all three were taken to the hospital.

Perkins-Waters was arrested on Saturday by Cape Coral police and is facing a charge of burglary with battery. He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail. A bail amount has not been set.

Police won’t say what the fight was over.
