A driver was transported as a trauma alert after a Lee County crash Friday morning.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed via Facebook that it was assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with traffic control at Corkscrew Road and Veranda Village Boulevard after a crash with injuries.

According to the FHP, the crash involved a semi-truck hauling sod and two passenger cars. The road remains blocked while tow trucks head to the scene, and the crash is still being investigated.

Estero Fire Rescue reported the two other involved drivers were not injured, and cautioned people to be more careful when driving through heavy fog.
