Diane Gronkowski says she was impressed with her son’s performance in Super Bowl LV last Sunday. Now, her son Rob has his fourth Super Bowl ring.

Chemistry on the field and in the water as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski were living it up at the Buc’s victory boat parade this week.

Even though this marks their fourth title together, this one is a bit different.

“When he was with the Patriots, it was almost expected. Nobody expected it, no one ever expected them to make the playoffs,” Diane said.

Diane Gronkowski said that she knew her son Rob and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could dethrone the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. And, her son played a key role in the win.

“I kind of had a feeling he was going to break out this game and get at least one touchdown but I really wasn’t expecting two,” she said.

The family joined Gronk on the field after the game in a not-so-once-in-a-lifetime-event for this particular family.

“You don’t want to see any nicks because he was smacked in the head too much, so that’s a good thing; Mother doesn’t want to see too many nicks in it,” said Diane holding up the helmet.

That helmet is now sitting in her living room. “He was like ‘mom hold this’ so I held it and things just got crazy and I ended up taking the helmet back home with me,” she said.

It won’t be a long drive for Rob to come to pick up his helmet, especially since Diane says she doesn’t see her son going anywhere else.

“He loves being in this part of the country and life is easier and happier and simpler. I think the team is simpler I think he was a lot more relaxed this year,” she said.

At least, she hopes so. That way she can remain close to her son.

Diane Gronkowski called Sunday “The grand finale” to her season because she was there for every game and saw her son every week.

Gronk’s two touchdowns during the Super Bowl gave him 100 career touchdowns.
