Fort Myers High School went into lockout from around 7:20 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday due to police activity in the area. In lockout, teaching and learning continues, but no visitors can enter the campus.

“This is stemming from an incident at Lee Memorial Hospital,” said a public information officer with the Fort Myers Police Department. “It is no danger, however we are looking for a person who is a potential witness. We have no concern for the community. The person is not a patient at LMH, they are simply looking for a person we are looking for to speak to as a witness.”

After the lockout ended, FMPD reiterated: “This was not a crime committed, it is simply an investigation.”
