A found phone turned up images of child porn and led to the arrest of a Bokeelia man.

Police say the phone was found Dec. 18, and the person who found it opened it to see if they could identify its owner. It was then that “very disturbing images” were found, CCPD says.

The phone was taken to the Cape Coral Police Department for further investigation. After a warrant was written by a Major Crimes detective and served, the phone was downloaded to collect and preserve the disturbing images.

The owner of the phone was identified as Ty Allen Rollins, 52. CCPD says that over 3,900 images of child porn were discovered.

Rollins was arrested Saturday and faces 10 counts of possession of obscene material. He remains in the Lee County Jail on $50,000 bond.
