Troopers are looking for a car that hit a man in LaBelle and left the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, on SR-80 near Ben Moore Road and the Walmart.

Troopers say the man was walking west on SR-80 when the mirror of an unknown sedan struck him, knocking him to the ground. He was taken to Lehigh Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The FHP says the car that hit the man may be a Kia and white in color.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the FHP at *FHP or call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
