A man is accused of grand theft after investigators say he stole money from another customer at a business in Southwest Florida.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers seeks help from the public to identify a man recently accused of taking a woman’s calendar book with $800 inside at a One Stop Multi Service Office in Lehigh Acres.

Video shared by Crime Stoppers on its Facebook page shows the suspect at the business located at 1237 Homestead Road North.

Maria Cano says she hopes the man accused of taking her belongs with the cash inside turns it in because she needs the money to keep a roof over her head.

“It was the money for the rent, and I don’t have it,” Cano said. “They don’t know the sacrifice or what we need the money for. Don’t do that.”

Anyone with information can contact SWFL Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or the website. If your tip leads to the suspect’s arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000. You can also leave Lee County Sheriff’s Office a tip using case no. 21-016484.
