Suspect sought in attempted robbery of North Fort Myers Taco Bell

Lee County deputies are looking for the man they say tried to rob the Taco Bell in North Fort Myers early Wednesday.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers says it happened just after 2:30 a.m. at the restaurant at the corner of Pondella Road and North Cleveland Avenue.

As employees were closing up, a man armed with a sharp object demanded cash from the safe and registers, deputies say. The suspect struck an employee several times before leaving without any cash.

The suspect is described as black, 5’10”, wearing a grey hooded sweater and blue pants. Detectives say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
