The inauguration of Joe Biden is just days away, and security has ramped up around the country. State capitals are on alert after threats of violence.

While local sheriff’s offices in Southwest Florida won’t go into great detail about their security plans in place for Inauguration Day, they have all prepared themselves to respond to dangerous situations.

Charlotte County says it has not received any credible threats toward any of its government buildings at this time, but has reviewed its standard operating procedures. In Lee County, the sheriff’s office will continue monitoring its real-time intelligence center, and deputies will conduct area checks.

Collier County is encouraging everyone to be aware of their surroundings, and to report anything suspicious if you see it.
