A car driven by a Lehigh Acres woman, 42, was traveling west around 8:04 p.m. on 8th Street Southwest, west of Olive Avenue South, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. An 11-year-old boy, also from Lehigh Acres, was on the north side of 8th Street Southwest, west of Olive Avenue South. As the car continued west, the front right portion collided with the child. He was left in serious condition after being struck.
