Cape Coral Police Department investigated a robbery at a home that happened early Thursday.

According to the CCPD blog post, police were in the 1300 block of Embers Parkway, where investigators said four masked suspects broke into a home around 1:30 a.m., beat up someone at the home and stole an unconfirmed amount of cash.

“Police officers came to our house earlier today and told us what had happened, and I was absolutely shocked,” next-door neighbor Cathy Lincoln said. “The fact that there are children in that house and hearing that story was absolutely terrifying.”

Police, major crimes detectives and forensics crews investigated at the scene for 17 hours.

“The police officer told us that he felt that it was a targeted house,” Lincoln said. “That we had nothing to worry about.
