Credit: Florida Highway Patrol. Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on southbound I-75 near Kings Highway exit 170 in Charlotte County Monday. According to FHP, a 72-year-old man, of Ave Maria, who was driving a sedan was killed in a crash with a tanker truck. The sedan was southbound on I-75 at mile marker 169, with the tanker just ahead of it southbound on the interstate. The sedan hit the back of the tanker and came to a final stop on southbound lanes. The man in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The roadway was cleared after several hours of investigation.
