Three mariners were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard on Friday after their ship began taking on water two miles west of Anna Maria Island.

In a news release, the Coast Guard said a rescue crew arrived at 7:50 p.m. to the 70-foot commercial fishing vessel called the Warrior. Three people were rescued and taken to a dock in Cortez with no medical concerns.

The Warrior had about two feet of water on board and pumps were unable to keep up with the flooding, the Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard will continue to monitor the vessel for pollution concerns.
