MGN A 12-year-old Sebring boy was killed on Christmas Day when the ATV he was driving collided with a tree. The Florida Highway Patrol says the boy was riding a John Deere Gator ATV on private property on Henscratch Road in Lake Placid when he collided with a tree and a low-hanging tree limb struck him. The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash happened at about 10:15 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
