Naples’ Fifth Avenue South plans events for week leading up to New Year’s
Downtown Naples businesses are planning a full week of celebrations ahead of the new year.
The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District is putting on the events from Dec. 28 until Jan. 3.
Throughout the week, there will be holiday-themed activities, specials on dining and shopping, and live musical performances on some evenings.
More on the planned events:
The inaugural Restaurant Showcase will feature creative tasting menus, cocktail flights and additional specials at more than 30 restaurants along the Avenue. This event will be a kick-off to the “Flavors of Fifth Restaurant Showcase” that will happen tri-annually, previewing menu releases and showcasing seasonally fresh items. Reservations are encouraged to be made in advance with the specific restaurant.
The weeklong celebration also will include a “New Year’s Evening on Fifth.” This event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 to Jan. 3 with live musical performances up and down the sidewalks of the Avenue, plus dining and shopping. The entertainment will be spaced so as to ensure a safe and socially distanced environment.
The Naples New Year’s Art Show will return to Fifth Avenue South from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan, 2 and 3. This annual tradition, hosted by the Naples Art Association, will showcase artists from all across the country displaying their artwork.
Other highlights of New Year’s week include a showcase of modern and vintage cars by Porsche Naples, official vehicle sponsor of Fifth Avenue South, and official partner Slidr will be on hand to provide concierge transportation services up and down the Avenue.
Throughout the week, a number of COVID-19 protocols will be put in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. Fifth Avenue South will be offering face masks for those who want them and handwashing stations will be available along the Avenue.
