The Florida Highway Patrol says the 35-year-old driver of an SUV was headed east on Golden Gate Parkway near Airport Pulling Road North when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. The driver was killed and his 42-year-old male passenger was seriously injured. The crash, which happened at about 12:30 a.m., remains under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
