A Cape Coral man was arrested after a sports-related altercation Tuesday night.

Police were called to the Northwest Softball Complex in the 1000 block of NW 16th Place at around 8:30 p.m.

Police say Aaron Charles Dvorak came to the plate and began to complain about a strike call the umpire made. An argument ensued, during which Dvorak punched the umpire in the face, injuring the umpire’s lip.

Dvorak, 38, was ejected from the game and left the park.

Officers spoke with Dvorak and placed him under arrest on a charge of battery on a person 65 years or older. He remains in the Lee County Jail. A bond amount has not been set.
