Credit: FDOT. Fort Myers Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash with injuries just off I-75 at Colonial Boulevard on Tuesday. The crash caused delays for several hours. It happened near the intersection of Colonial Blvd. and Ortiz Avenue and involved nine cars. Three people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital, one for treatment of serious injuries. FMPD said Wednesday that person is in stable condition. Police gave an update Wednesday to say that the cause of the crash was medical-related and no charges will be filed.
