Suncoast Humane Society looking for fosters for the holidays

Published: Updated:

Suncoast Humane Society is looking for volunteers to participate in their “Holiday Crashers” program.

In the past, they would recruit volunteers to come to the shelter to spend time with the animals. This year, in order to slow the spread of coronavirus, instead of coming to the shelter you can foster animals in your own home.

“The holidays this year are different for many of us who won’t be traveling or attending traditional events. Holiday Crashers is a meaningful way to offer all of the extra love you have to give to a shelter dog or cat. A true gift of compassion,” said SHS CEO, Maureen O’Nell.

SHS provides supplies needed to be a successful foster including, food, medication and leashes.

To host a “Holiday Crasher,” you are encouraged to submit an application or contact SHS Foster Coordinator Fatime Duka at fduka@humane.org.

Because of the SHS Foster Program, more than 500 animals have been able to experience life outside of the shelter in 2020. To learn more about the animals available for adoption, programs and services of Suncoast Humane Society, please visit www.humane.org or call 941-474-7884.
