Pandemic panic buying is happening again. After stopping at several stores in the region, we noticed paper products are the popular item. Major stores such as Walmart are warning shoppers it’s hard for them to keep toilet paper in stock.

We spoke to shoppers about the bare shelves Wednesday.

“I am one of those people that try to stay prepared and just to be sure that I have enough, so I did go ahead and buy me another pack,” Twaski Jackson said.

Jackson keeps up with the supplies for his family of three. He says he has to stay prepared.

“So go ahead and get them while supplies still lasts, so that way I don’t end up in a predicament where we don’t have what we need,” Jackson said.

He makes sure he has the essential paper goods because of what’s going on in other parts of the country.

“My mom lives in Michigan, and they’re already going on lockdown,” Jackson said. “So I wanted to be sure that in case Florida goes on lockdown that I can go ahead and get these essentials now.”

For others, it’s just not that big of a deal.

“I personally am not really paying attention to it,” Jasmine Foote said. “I’m just going about my daily routine.”

Some have yet to see limited supplies.

“Publix is great” Barry Anderson said. “They’re always stocked.”

Our crew has seen some spotty limits on how much customers can buy at certain places. Grocery experts say other items that are quick to go right now are frozen foods.
