A Fort Myers man was arrested Saturday after deputies say he bludgeoned a cat to death.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a home off Clear Lake Loop late Friday in reference to a complaint of animal cruelty.

Investigators found blood on a wall inside the home and determined it was from an animal.

Antonio Rodriguez, 29, is facing a charge of aggravated animal cruelty. The sheriff’s office said he bludgeoned and disposed of a cat.

He was still in the Lee County Jail on Sunday with a bond of $100,000.
